Victory at home over Palmy

May 12, 2014 by Easty in Featured, Juniors, Seniors

A big thank you to Mia and Drew Lynett who were our match day mascots for this weeks home clash with Palm Beach leading Kingscliff Wolves out for a 2-1 win.

Both Mia and Drew play in our U9s team at Kingscliff and enjoyed a win this weekend themselves.

Drew’s favourite position is in defence, he is a strong defender who works hard every week to help his team keep a clean sheet. Drew is already counting down to when he can play as a senior at Kingscliff. Much to his Granddads disappointment Drew has chosen to support his Nan’s team Chelsea over Tottenham.

Mia is a star in her favourite position as a midfielder and she has a “never give up” attitude. Having already scored a goal this season Mia is always looking for the next scoring opportunity.

At KDFC we couldn’t get by on Saturday afternoons in our canteen without the help of Mia and Dews Grandparents Jan and Keith Lake and my cousins Dot and Kevin Colley who all volunteer their time at our senior home games. Dot, Jan, Kevin and Keith work hard to ensure our supporters and visitors have plenty of food on these cool afternoons and stay late into the evening to then feed our senior players following their tough afternoons on the football field…. Don’t forget to drop in to say hello to them and taste some of their delicious home made food at the next home game!

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers.

President, KDFC
