Presidents Message & Invitation to Special Meeting

December 5, 2011 by Easty in Committee, Featured, Miscellaneous
Hello Members and Friends,
Many of you may have heard that I was not going to continue as President of the Club in 2012, however, I was encouraged by many people to continue in the role for another year. I always wanted to continue in the role and lead the club into the future as I have a strong view our club has the potential to be the leading football club on the Gold Coast (not just the tweed). On a personal note I was concerned about a number of issues including whether or not I had the time to commit to the role and the club.
Given the support I received recently prior to being re-elected, I now look forward to building on our 2011 seasons success and continue the journey into the 2012 season ,  however,  to do this I will need many more of our members to get involved and HELP , please consider being a Coach or Manager with one of our teams. Along side these important roles and to ease the work load I have developed an Operational Committee Structure creating many new smaller roles which I hope will now encourage many of you to get involved. I can assure you the club can not be sustained and in fact continue to grow to provide the football opportunities your children and our senior players deserve without more help from our members!
I have called a Special Meeting this Tuesday 6th December @7.30pm @ Clubhouse to discuss the structure and call for nominations to fill all positions in the new structure. I call on you to help and ask you to join me @ the clubhouse this Tuesday and listen to our plans for next year and hopefully put your hand up to help in one of the many smaller roles I have developed, these roles have been created to lighten the load on the people who have helped out so much in the past.
Our club includes Kingscliff and Tweed Valley Kings and includes juniors, Seniors, boys, girls, men and women. If you play or have a child in one of these teams or are just a football lover like me please come down on Tuesday and put your hand up for something even if only something small, every little bit will help.
I’m confident the club will grow in numbers in 2012 and I am very sure with your help the club will be the leading community organization on the Tweed coast as well as one of the leading football clubs on the Gold Coast.
Finally I would like to welcome back Karen Walton as Secretary again this year and Gillian Austin as your new Treasurer and our past committee members who have taken up committee positions again this year. I must also thank some out going committee members for their help in the past seasons including Mark Suhor, Keith Morris and Glenn Mortimer. I am confident I speak for all of you in thanking them for their help and fantastic efforts over many years.
Please note in 2012 all “General Club” meetings will take place on the first Tuesday of each Month the first meeting for 2012 will be held on the 3rd January 2012.  Please keep an eye on the club website or for all club information and updates i.e. registration dates etc
If you can not be at our very important meeting this Tuesday I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a Very Merry Christmas a safe Holiday period and I look forward to seeing you around the club in 2012.
Please attend this Tuesday night at 7.30pm the club needs YOU!
Yours in Football
Craig Long
Club President
