KDFC Junior coaching program 2019
We are excited to announce securing the services of coaches within our revised junior coaching model for 2019 at Kingscliff district Football Club.
Barry Saunders (Coach Bazza) will head up the group as the “Director of football”.
Our new model will be structured around the Football phases of learning set by the FFA National Curriculum and build on the programs already in place that support our team coaches.
U6 to U9 will continue with the Pro-skills support program with SIBA Soccer Coaches.
U10 to U12 teams will receive a Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) session as part of their pro-skill Programs with SIBA Soccer Coaches.
U13 to U15 teams will receive a Game Training related pro-skills session.
Youth Male Program
This program is for U16 to U18 entering their Performance Phase of learning with the objective of preparing them for senior football.
This is an invitation only program for development Players that are playing JPL or Kangaroo leagues; there will be the opportunity for extra players to be invited in.
Goal Keeper program
We will be providing a 20 week junior goal keeper program throughout the season.
Female specific talent program
U10 to U12 teams will receive a weekly Skill Acquisition Phase SAP session with a Youth C Licence Coach
U13 plus teams will receive a weekly Game Training session with an advanced licence coach
Confirmed Coaches for 2019
Barry Saunders (Coach Bazza): Director of football- will oversee the youth male program and coach the U16 team- will oversee the female specific talent program U13 plus teams, Bazza will deliver a weekly Game Training session and support these coaches.
Coach Bazza has over 20 years experience in football development working with QLD state sides, Regional talent ID, NPL sides and as a FQ SAP trainer, obtaining a diploma in training and development in 1998, progressing with numerous FFA and Coerver coaching qualifications and awards including an Australian Government recognition certificate for developing football.
Bazza holds a FFA instructors licence.
Matt will oversee the U10 to U12 girls in the Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) of learning and deliver a weekly session within our female specific talent program.
Matt has coached both Boys and Girls within the Football QLD NPL, Football QLD Skill Acquisition Program as well as Gold Community football.
Matthew holds FFA Youth ‘C’ Licence and FFA Senior ‘C’ Licence.
Matt will oversee the U12 to U15 Premier Program delivering a weekly development session and team related pro-skills sessions extra to the team coach. Matt will also coach the U14 JPL team.
Matt as a youngster grew up in the north east of England and came through the ranks at Hartlepool United, playing in their centre of excellence from 11 till 16 years of age.
At 16 he signed for Doncaster rovers training fulltime as a youth and reserve player before signing professionally at 18.
After spells at numerous non league clubs he moved to Australia as a 22 year old after spending a few years coaching for Newcastle United.
Since being in Australia he has coached on the Gold Coast, most recently taking this year’s U13s Football Gold Coast Community cup team up to McKay.
Matt holds a FFA B licence.
Luke will oversee the U9 to u11 Premier Program delivering a weekly Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) session.
Luke was originally a Kingscliff junior who progressed through the system, playing for Gold coast, Queensland and the QAS. Luke continued to play for numerous NSL, State league teams and was a prolific striker in the Gold Coast Premier league. Luke is currently a head coach in the PBC sports excellence and holds both FFA Youth ‘C’ Licence and FFA Senior ‘C’ Licence.
Alex Pitt (Pommy):
Alex will continue with the goalkeeper program and be part of the SIBA Soccer pro-skills program.
Alex is a former Premier League Goal Keeper and has given up playing to concentrate on his coaching career.
Alex is in the process of completing the FFA Youth ‘C’ Licence and FFA Senior ‘C’ Licence.
SIBA Soccer coaches will consist of Coach Lewy, George, Ashton, Jess Austin, Oliver May, Quinn and assistant coaches Riley, Keish and Tori (We will have more opportunities for U16 and youth age players to be involved with coaching in 2019)
This group have numerous qualifications and experiences from working in USA alongside former Manchester United academy coaches with LA Galaxy OC, Chicago Fire and USA junior soccer leagues. Jess and Oliver will return to kingscliff after four years of playing college soccer and studying in the USA.
Paul Tulloch will join this group to head up the pro-skills training for our kangaroo teams.
Paul holds all community licences and working towards completing his FFA C Licence.
We have also locked in the services Josh Van Der Linde to be our head youth team coach who is currently coaching our U16s and will be working closely with Coach Bazza in the Youth Male Program.
Applications for team coaches will open in September 2018.
